Travel Gear ESSENTIALs
I Never Fly Without
AWAY Luggage
I always take my AWAY luggage when we fly. We use the AWAY Bigger Carry-On when traveling to multiple destinations in one trip because it is more compact than the large version that we using for our resort vacations.
We’ve had our AWAY luggage for several years, and despite being dragged from country to country it has held up perfectly!
The AWAY luggage is crafted from hard-sided plastic, ensuring its durability. Its 360-degree wheels glide smoothly over various surfaces, making it a breeze to maneuver. It’s equipped with a built-in TSA-approved lock for added security. I love that it has a lifetime warranty that covers potential issues, from cracks and breaks in the shell to malfunctioning wheels, handles, or zippers.
AWAY luggage has been a travel gear staple for several years, and we both recommend it to our friends and family.
Tripped Toiletry Kit
Friends, this is the BEST toiletry kit I have ever tried, and I have a lot of toiletry bags! This is probably the fourth post I’ve mentioned it in, because it is that GOOD! Watch this brief video where I fit 45 items into this one toiletry kit.
One of my favorite features is the detachable TSA liquids bag. This toiletry kit easily hangs on a hook or towel rod to clear up counter space at your destination, which is particularly nice for smaller bathrooms.
It includes a third bonus bag, great for accessories like brushes and hair tools. It is also available in various colors, including teal, dusty rose, white, gray, black, and green.
One of the best features of this bag is that you can store it unfolded in your luggage, saving valuable space.Â
Leather Travel Wallet, Passport and Document Holder
I have two different travel wallets/document holders, but once I felt the buttery-soft leather of this one, I’ve never used the other one.
This handy organizer has six pockets, including room for four credit cards, and two outer pockets perfect for boarding passes.
I appreciate the added RFID feature, which protects my personal information from unauthorized scanning and adds an extra layer of security to your next adventure.
Clorox Wipes
Friends, these Clorox Wipes have been an absolute game-changer for me. Planes are covered in germs—Ugh, so many germs. Historically. I have gotten sick almost every time we fly. So, anything I can do to stay healthy is a travel essential.Â
Trudy Tip: Once seated on the plane, we wipe down the seat belt buckle, armrests, tray table, tray table latch, and the entertainment screen, if there is one.Â
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer has become another travel gear essential when flying. Planes are full of germs, and you can’t be too cautious. I love that this one uses essential oils for fragrance. It smells lovely with notes of orange, cloves, cinnamon, and rosemary!
Digital Scale
We bring our digital luggage scale to avoid paying overweight luggage fees when checking luggage. By weighing our luggage before arriving at the airport, we avoid the awkward removal of belongings at the ticket counter due to excessive weight. And let’s be honest, no one wants to be sifting through their undergarments and personal items in front of a line of impatient travelers.Â
AirPods
I always have my Apple Airpods in my bag. The Pro version is noise canceling, which is an added bonus when flying. They are small, easy to pack, and perfect for listening to music or watching movies during your flight.
The AirFly In-Flight Wireless Headphone Adapter is one of my favorite travel gear essentials.
The AirFly wirelessly connects your earbuds or wireless headphones to the in-flight entertainment. It can be used with your AirPods, earbuds, or wireless headphones without cords getting in the way.
We’ve also used it to connect our earbuds to one phone or iPad to watch a movie together.
Â
Phone Holder
This is a great travel item if you or your kids watch movies or videos on a phone while traveling.
The phone holder easily attaches to the seat back tray table during the flight and other items like a luggage handle, table, shelf, etc. throughout your trip. Even better, the mount swivels 360 degrees, so you can easily see the screen no matter where you are seated.
Lotion
I keep lotion handy on every flight because my skin dries out quickly with the low humidity. My favorite on-the-go hand cream is the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. It smells great, absorbs quickly, and leaves my hands feeling soft but not greasy. This is one of the many reasons it has become one of my top travel gear essentials.
Jet Lag Prevenetion
I never head out on an international flight without bringing these JetZone tablets. We’ve used these time and time again and I can honestly report that neither of us experience any significant fatigue or exhaustion.
The chewable tablets don’t have any significant taste and do not have any side effects such as feeling wired or jittery like with caffeine.
Thanks for reading this post!
I hope you enjoyed it!
